All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ BRAKEMAN KILLED. - Between eleven and twelve o'clock on Saturday night, the 20th ult., Mr. John McCartney, a brakeman on the through freight train east was killed at Stoerr's water station, near Greensburg. It is stated that the deceased while standing on his own train was struck by the baggage car attached to Mail train west, fracturing his skull and throwing him under the moving train, several cars of which passed over him, cutting off both his legs and otherwise mutilating his body.
