McCARTNEY Died last evening at 8 o'clock at the Fitzgerald Nursing home. She lived in the Altoona Trust branch building at Eighth avenue and Twelfth street. She was born Oct. 16, 1861, in Greensburg, a daughter of John H. and Mary Jane (Moore) Highberger. She was married to Jack H. McCartney, who preceded her in death in February, 1941. He was a passenger engineer on the Pittsburgh division. Surviving are the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Coates Walton, Mrs. W. H. Murray and Miss Helen Riddell, all of Altoona; John H. Highberger of Teaneck, N.J., Mrs. L. A. Brittingham of Newport News, Va.; John Alex, Jerome J. and David F. Kilgore, all of Greensburg.
