Nancy Margaret, wife of David F. McCartney, died at her late residence, along the Wopsononock road, near Miller's blacksmith shop, Logan township, at ten minutes past 2 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. McCartney did her weekly washing Monday forenoon and prepared the family dinner, and was in her usual good health when her husband and children left her after dinner to attend to duties a short distance from home. On returning to the house about half-past 4 o'clock in the evening the husband found his wife lying on the floor in the kitchen in an unconscious condition, in which state she remained until death. The doctor was summoned and pronounced the cause of the trouble to be apoplexy. Mrs. McCartney was 54 years of age last June, and leaves to mourn their loss, besides her husband, three children, two sons - Anson V. and Morrison M. - both at home, and Jessie, wife of Wells A. Furst, of Fairview; also two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Machin, of Johnstown, and Magdalene McIlwaine, and one brother, Henry Coleman, of Cherrytree, Indiana county. The funeral will leave the house at 2 o'clock Thursday and proceed to Fairview church, where services will be held. Interment in Fairview cemetery.
