WILLIAM CAREY MCCARTNEY 

Of Mountaindale, Pa., died at his home this morning after an extended 
illness.  He was born at Mountaindale Jan. 20 1872, the son of James W. 
and Elizabeth (Van Scoyoc) McCartney.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. 
Maude (Gwin) McCartney, and the following children:  Mrs. Donald E. 
France of Altoona, Mrs. Dalmer N. Franklin of Carlisle, Mrs. Jack 
McLaughlin of Mercersburg, Ann R., at home, Fred G. of Lancaster, 
Robert L. of Harrisburg and Donald W. of Altoona; five grandchildren 
and the following brothers: Thomas V. of Mountaindale and John C. of 
Fallentimber, R.D.  He was a member of the First Baptist church of 
Mountaindale.  Friends will be received at home.
