MCCARTNEY, A retired engineer died at 2:45 o'clock this morning at the family home, 40[?] Sixth avenue, following an illness of some time. He was a son of Alfred and Barbara McCartney and was born at Lewistown on March 20, 1857. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McCauley McCartney and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Latherow of Altoona. Also a number of nieces and nephews. He attended the Methodist church. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the First Church of the Brethren with Rev. Walter Scot Long, the pastor, in charge. Interment will be made in the Logan Valley cemetery, Bellwood. McCartney. Special mention should be made of the floral tributes, the use of automobiles for the funeral and the kindness extended by Logan lodge of Odd Fellows and the friends of Fourth Street.
