Miss Martha Catharine McClain, a life-long resident of Sinking Valley, died at her home in the Valley, Monday night at 11 o'clock. Two years ago at Philadelphia, she underwent an operation for a tumor which was successfully removed and she had finally regained her usual health, until attacked with the grip about two weeks ago, which caused her death. The deceased was the daughter of Thomas and Mary McClain, deceased. She is survived by one sister and three brothers, Mary Josephine, Ambrose, Philip and James McClain, all at the family home in Sinking Valley. Miss McClain was a lady of high character and profound intelligence, and she was held in highest regard by all who know her. The funeral will take place Thursday morning. Services at the late home of the deceased at 10 o'clock will be conducted by Rev. G. M. Kelly, pastor of St. Matthew's Catholic church of Tyrone.
