Mrs. Susan Jane McClellan, widow of James McClellan, the conductor who was killed at GD office January 17, died Saturday night of heart disease under distressing circumstances. In the early evening she was in her ordinary health and after supper went down town to do some shopping, accompanied by a young lady named Price. On the way home Mrs. McClellan was taken ill and when she reached the Price residence, 1505 Ninth street, she was unable to go further. Dr. Long was hastily summoned, but in spite of his best efforts she died a short time after his arrival. Undertaker Lafferty later removed the body to the late home, 1515 Ninth street. The deceased was born in Germany, April 17, 1835. She came to America when but a child and resided with her parents in Indiana county until 1864, when she came to Altoona where she since resided. She was married to James McClellan in 1859. These children survive: Frank, Mrs. Kate Charles, Louis, Brinton and Charles, all of this city. These brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Samuel Rude, of Johnstown; Valentine Warner, of Arkansas, and Mrs. Margaret Gibbons, of Minnesota.
