WILLIAM H. McCLELLAN

William H. McClellan, 84 years old, of 2022 2nd Ave., Altoona, retired
employee of the Pennsylvania railroad company, died Tuesday night at
the Altoona hospital.  Death was attributed to gangrene following five
months illness.  The deceased was born at Tipton, Blair county, July
27, 1841.  He retired from the service of the railroad in 1909.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Joan Replogle, of Lakemont
Terrace; Mrs. Curtin Irwin, 2022 Second avenue, Altoona; Mrs. Bertha
Harmon, Cleveland, O., Mrs. Harry Boak and John P., of Altoona; W. H.
Jr., of Coalport; G. R. of Frankstown township.  Two sisters, Mrs.
Sarah Snyder and Mrs. Isabelle Burket, both of Altoona, also survive
as do twenty-six grandchildren.  His wife preceded him to the grave
twenty-three years ago.  He was a member of the First Methodist church
and the Order of Knights of Malta, of Altoona.  Funeral services will
be conducted at the church at 2.30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
