Thursday morning, at the Eagle hotel, Mrs. McClelland, relict of Jacob McClelland who was killed while attempting to board a freight train on the main line some three years ago, died of metro-peritonitis. She was a daughter of Mr. Hart, of Grazierville. A few years ago she and her sister married two brothers, McClelland by name, and shortly after the death of the husband of the former her sister died also. Fifteen days ago she gave birth to a child - the second since the death of her husband - which lived but three days. The woman lay in a cold room, and not having the proper treatment, though as good perhaps as could be expected at the hands of strangers, took cold and died as above stated. The remains were conveyed to the home of her parents in the afternoon. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, March 1, 1883, page 4
