All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Thomas McClelland, the last survivor of the family of William McClelland, a pioneer in this section, died at the home of Thomas Stevens in Charlottsville, half way between this place and Tipton Thursday morning, after an illness in confinement to his home of about six weeks' duration from a complication of diseases, aged 59 years, 5 months and 7 days. He was a pensioned soldier and served in the One Hundred and Twenty Fifth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers and also in the Third United States heavy artillery, in the late rebellion. He was a brave soldier, a good citizen, and his early death was caused by disease contracted while in the service of his country. The funeral took place from his late home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock and the services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Mathers. Interment in the Charlottsville cemetery.
