McCloskey, Sr., 66, of 1456 Logan Ave., Tyrone, died Saturday afternoon, September 23, 2006 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. He was born January 6, 1940 at Orviston, Centre Co., Pa. the son of Melvin L. and Helen Elizabeth (Rhodes) McCloskey. He is survived by seven children: Sherry Meek of Milesburg, Brenda Lewis of Warriors Mark, Larry M. McCloskey, Jr. of Harrisburg, Laurie Ann Cowfer of Eden Hill, Wanda Ann Good of Virginia, Paul Gregory McCloskey of Harrisburg and Nathan Henry McCloskey of Harrisburg; eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson Levi N. McCloskey. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the Air National Guard - 112th Aircraft and Warning Flights for six years. He was raised on a farm. He worked on construction for Mosely and Son in Stuart, Florida and worked at Marble-Head Lime Co. in Pleasant Gap. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Timothy Tangen officiating. Interment will be at Romola Cemetery, Curtin Twp., Centre Co. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be given to Shepherds Chapel, Box 416, Vette, Arkansas 72736.
