CORNELIUS MCCONNELL

Drowned Himself

Cornelius McConnell, of Newry, in this county, left his residence some time 
during the night of Tuesday, 24th (Monday, June 24th) and drowned himself 
in a stream near town.  It is said that a close watch has been kept on him 
for some time, fears being entertained, from the disturbed state of his 
mind, that he intended to destroy himself.  In his intercourse with 
men he was considered a clever neighbor. --Whig
