At 3.20 o'clock yesterday morning Mr. F. P. McConnell, a much respected citizen, passed away at his home, 2014 Tenth avenue, death being caused by kidney trouble. Mr. McConnell was born September 28, 1844, in East Freedom, Blair county, and was married June 13, 1876, to Miss Jennie Moore, the wedding taking place in St. John's Catholic church, this city, Rev. Father O'Connor being the officiating clergyman. He was in the service of his country during the civil war, being a member of company A, Two Hundred and Fifth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church, of St. John's Literary and Benevolent society and of the Pennsylvania Railroad Voluntary Relief association. He was an employe of the company under Foreman Morris R. Davis. His wife and the following children survive: Francis B., Mary C., Monica A., Jerome L. and Leo P. McConnell, all at home. Four children preceded him to the grave. His aged mother, Mrs. Catherine McConnell, is yet living, as are also these brothers and sisters: Mrs. P. Burns, Mrs. Ann Flaugh, Mrs. Stephen Duncan, Samuel and David McConnell, of Altoona, and Mrs. Joseph Nightwine, of Beaver Falls. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, leaving his late home at 8:45 o'clock and proceeding to St. John's church, where, at 9:30 o'clock, mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul.
