ED McCONNELL Of 210 West College avenue, State College, a former resident of Altoona, died at his home at 6:25 o'clock this morning after having suffered a stroke several weeks ago. He was a printer by trade and formerly was employed by the Altoona Mirror and the Altoona Tribune. For the past two years he had been located in State College, working for the Nittany Publishing company. While in Altoona, he resided at 1210 Eighteenth avenue. Mr. McConnell was born in Lilly on May 31, 1885, a son of Augustin and Retta (Howe) McConnell. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace (Fletcher) McConnell, six sons and daughters, Robert, Raymond and Arthur, all of State College, David of Altoona, Mrs. Frank DeStrange and Louis McConnell of Yonkers, N.Y., three grandchildren, his mothers, three brothers and one sister, Albert, Leroy, and Thomas McConnell and Mrs. V. D. Ryan, all of Altoona. Mr. McConnell was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and the Typographical union. The body has been brought to Altoona and friends are being received at the sister's home at 919 Fourth avenue. McCONNELL - The funeral of J. Ed McConnell of State College, former Altoonan, will be held Saturday morning with requiem mass at 9 o'clock in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
