McCONNELL Of 608 First avenue, died at his home at 11:30 o'clock last night after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona on Jan. 24, 1881, a son of John A. and Jennie (Mathews) McConnell. Mr. McConnell was a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic church, the Eagles, Knights of St. George and Concordia Singing society. He was a retired crane operator of the Altoona works. Mrs. McConnell died in 1942. Surviving are one brother and one sister, Mrs. Leo Tiernan of Washington, D.C., and Charles McConnell of the Aspinwall Veterans' hospital. Mr. McConnell reposes at the V. L. Stevens funeral home. McCONNELL - The funeral of Joseph A. McConnell of 608 First avenue, will be held Monday morning with requiem mass at 10 o'clock in Mt. Carmel church.
