McConnell Dies at Home Thomas Butler McConnell, aged 67, of 1917 Twelfth avenue, father of Rev. Father Edward McConnell of St. Joseph's parish, Bellwood, and a member of a well-known railroad family in the city, died at his home at 12:30 o'clock this morning after four months of illness. He was born in Altoona July 21, 1880, a son of Edwin and Anna (Attig) McConnell, and was twice married, his first wife, Mrs. Agnes (Grimme) McConnell, preceding him in death. Mr. McConnell retired Nov. 19, 1946, as an engineer on the Pittsburgh division. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marie (Moran) McConnell, the following children: Father Edward of Bellwood, Mrs. Genevieve Lightner, Mrs. Eleanor Bailey and Miss Marie, all of Middletown, Sister Mary Leon of King's Point, N.Y., and Joseph of Altoona; six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Anna Farabaugh of the City, George of Lakemont, Mrs. Adelaide C. Kelly of Philadelphia and Walter of Altoona. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, Edward, Joseph, Mrs. Marie Kemp, Agnes, John, his twin brother, and William. Mr. McConnell was a member of St. Leo's Catholic church, the Holy Name society, and branch 231, Knights of St. George. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening.
