MARTHA McCORMICK, Widow of James McCormick, died at her home in East Freedom, Sunday evening at 10:30 o'clock, after an illness of about a year. Deceased was a native of Freedom township, and was aged 62 years. She had for many years been engaged in conducting the McCormick House at East Freedom. She was a member of the Catholic church at Newry, prominent in social circles, and highly esteemed. She is survived by four children, two sons and two daughters, viz.: Charles, employed as a clerk by H. A. Wolf, of this city; Joseph, Katie and Mamie, at home; also by one brother and sister, Job Lingenfelter, of Butler, Ind., and Mrs. Catharine Hileman, of Dakota City, Neb. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, the cortege leaving the late home of the deceased at 9 o'clock. Services will be held in St. Patrick's church at Newry and interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Altoona Mirror, September 20, 1898
