SARAH DELINDA (ROSS) MCCORMICK Passed Away on Wednesday Evening, September 9th, at 11:30 O'clock On the evening of Sept. 9 at 11.30 o'clock, Mrs. Sarah D. McCormick, wife of John B. McCormick, passed into the eternal world. Mrs. McCormick's death was due to a complication of diseases from which she has been a patient sufferer the past six months. Mrs. McCormick has been very ill all summer, but was not considered in a dangerous condition until the last few days when she grew gradually worse, and death ended her life at the above mentioned time. She was a kind Christian woman, neighbor and friend and was always ready to help others. As a wife and mother, she was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed in the home. Mrs. Sarah Delinda McCormick, whose maiden name was Ross, was born in Centre County, December 13, 1850, and was aged 57 years, 8 months and 27 days. She has resided in Tyrone the past twenty-one years. In July, 1871, she was united in marriage to John B. McCormick who, with two children, Mrs. Lee B. Carter and George Ross McCormick, of Altoona, survive to mourn, her death. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. E. J. Ross, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Frank M. Fox, Mrs. George 0. Wilson, Mrs. Ella R. Corson, George M. Ross, all of Tyrone; and Albert A. Ross and Robert S. Ross, of Warriors Mark. The funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the McCormick home on East Tenth Street and were conducted by Reverend George T. Gunter, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of which the deceased was a faithful member. Interment was made in Grand View Cemetery, Tyrone.
