McCormick Succumbs to the Infirmities of Old Age. At the home of his son, J. Edward McCormick, on Columbia Avenue between Eighteenth and Nineteenth streets, the venerable William Thompson McCormick passed away 1:36, Saturday morning, aged 73 years, 11 mouths and 16 days. He had been in failing health for more than a year and death resulted naturally from the exhaustion of advanced age. The deceased was born January 27, 1883, in Perry County where most of his life was spent and where he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Kell. His wife passed away August 18, 1894. Mr. McCormick was a blacksmith by trade and he worked at this occupation for the United States government at Washington during the time of the Civil War. He first came to Tyrone about twenty-five years ago and resided here since, except for three and a half years spent in Kansas and Iowa. Returning to Tyrone September 1, 1889, he remained here ever since. He was a member of the German Reformed church, and was a man held in the sincere esteem of those who knew him. One son and one daughter survive him, J. Edward McCormick, of Tyrone, and Mrs. Walter Sausaman, of Bradford. He leaves no surviving brothers nor sisters. Funeral services at the Columbia Avenue Methodist Church was conducted by Rev. W. R. Picken at 2.30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Interment in Tyrone Cemetery. Tyrone Herald, Tyrone, Pa., January 17, 1907
