"Jerry" McCoy Sr., 78, of 1466 Blair Avenue, Tyrone died Friday, July 23, 2004 at 11:23 p.m. at his home. He was born April 2, 1926 in Dungarvin, a son of the late James E. and Thelma (Robinson) McCoy. He married Lois G. Umholtz on December 11, 1944 at the Tyrone United Brethren Parsonage. Surviving is his wife, a daughter Mary Ann Dunkel and husband Edward of Tyrone, a son Gerald E. II and wife Diana of Tyrone, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Donald L. and wife Marcia of Barlow, Kentucky, James E. and wife Barbara of Tifton, Georgia and two sisters, Doris B. Moore of Tyrone and Carol Estright and husband Sam of Sandy Ridge. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert E. and two sisters, Helen L. Miles and Marjorie "Joan" Yeager. Mr. McCoy retired in 1987 from Westvaco, Tyrone as Plant Superintendent following 44 years service. He was of the Protestant faith and a lifelong member of the Hookies Fire Company, Cartwright Hunting Club and the Tyrone Sportsman's Association. Prior to his illness he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Timothy Tangen officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the Memorial Home on Monday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Tyrone Daily Herald, July 26, 2004
