MARGARET W. M'CUNE
Died at Daughters Home in Pittsburgh Wednesday

  Mrs. Margaret Wertz McCune died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
Lewis Kinch, 807 Mellen street, East Liberty, on Wednesday near 
midnight of diseases incident to old age. The deceased was born near 
Hollidaysburg on December 30, 1839, and was the oldest child of Solomon 
and Mary Ann Wertz, her father being one of the best known men of 
central Pennsylvania.
  Mrs. McCune lived in Blair county the greater part of her life, and 
was held in high esteem by a great number of friends. Mrs. McCune was a 
devoted member of the Lutheran church. About thirty-two years ago she 
moved to Pittsburgh where she has since made her home with her 
daughter, Mrs. Kinch. Throughout her long life Mrs. McCune enjoyed 
excellent health, and it was only in late months that it failed her.
  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Kinch. A daughter, Mrs. 
John Houser, preceded her to the grave a few years ago. One grandson, 
Donald Kinch, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Leslie Mathias; one great-
granddaughter. Marguerite Mathias, also survive, as do also the 
following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Gloria Louden, of Tyrone; Mrs. 
Julia Hileman of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Ida Tippery and Miss Luella Wertz, 
both of Altoona; Flem Wertz of Nebraska, and S. C. Wertz of Altoona.
  She was an aunt of S. G. Wertz, Mrs. D. C. Yeigh and the Misses Mary, 
Jeanette and Sarah Wertz of Tyrone. The remains will be taken to 
Altoona on Saturday, and will be sent to Lafferty and Tobias funeral 
home on Broad avenue where funeral services will be held Saturday at 
one o'clock, with interment in Fairview cemetery.
