McCURDY Veteran of World war No. 1 and employed as a designer draftsman for the Pennsylvania highway department, died at Altoona hospital at 6.05 o'clock last evening following five days' illness. He resided at 116 Walnut street, Hollidaysburg. He was born at Thompsontown, Sept. 29, 1889, a son of Samuel and Mary Ellen (Boganrief) McCurdy, and had been in the service of the state for thirty years. He was twice married, his first wife, Esther Fortenbaugh, dying a number of years ago. Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Carolyn T. (Snowberger) McCurdy, and these brothers and sisters: Miss Ethel McCurdy of Loysville, Eugene J. of Hollidaysburg, Samuel of Haverford, Chester H. of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Marie Webb of Hollidaysburg. Mr. McCurdy was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, Hollidaysburg, and the Fort Fetter post, No. 516, American Legion, Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary after 7 o'clock tonight. McCURDY - Funeral services for George Clarence McCurdy of 116 Walnut street, Hollidaysburg, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by Rev. M. Stanley Kemp at the Stevens memorial chapel. Interment in the Presbyterian cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Friends are being received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary, 1421 Eighth avenue.
