VIRGINIA M. McDERMITT

Of 2425 Beale Ave., died at 5:45 a.m. today, June 19, 1970, in Altoona
Hospital, where she was admitted June 7, after a brief illness.  She
was born in Roaring Spring Jan. 21, 1901, a daughter of William and
Margaret (Gates) Gartland.  Surviving are five children, Donald of
Altoona, Paul of Wilmington, Del., Eugene of Chicago, Mrs. Doris
Walbridge of Concord, Calif., and Mrs. Kay Savoie of Bradley, Ill.; 13
grandchildren, and a brother and sister, Raymond of Mapleton Depot and
Mrs. Mary Griffith of Hollidaysburg.  Mrs. McDermitt was a member of
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Friends will be received in the
Stevens Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
