At 4.50 o'clock yesterday morning Frank J. McDermott died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Michael McDermott, 2422 West Chestnut avenue, of congestion of the lungs, the result of a cold contracted several weeks ago. Deceased was born near this city and was aged 31 years. He had resided in Altoona since boyhood, and until several years ago was employed as a moulder in the Pennsylvania railroad brass foundry. Later he was employed as a clerk at the Sherman house. He was popular and well known and was a member of the Sacred Heart church. Besides his mother he is survived by two sisters and one brother, as follows: Carrie B., at home; Mary, of Jersey City, and John, of Oil City. The funeral will take place Saturday morning, mass to be conducted at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church; interment in St. John's cemetery. Morning Tribune, Friday, January 19, 1900
