On Saturday morning last, at ten minutes of 10 o'clock, Mrs. Elizabeth McDowell died at her residence in Logan township on the road leading to the Pennsylvania railroad reservoir. The deceased was aged 57 years, 8 months and 18 days, and was the wife of Mr. Alexander McDowell. She had been ill with typhoid fever for some time. For twenty-four years Mrs. McDowell had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Blair Furnace, and an evidence that her life had been that of a Christian and that death held no terrors for her is found in her dying words, "There is not a cloud in the way - all is clear." She was, indeed, an affectionate wife and a loving mother, and to mourn for her there are left her sorrowing husband and two children, Barr, a young man, married and residing near the family residence, and Miss Sallie, who lives at home. Both the husband and son are employed in the boiler shop of the Pennsylvania railroad.
