McEwen, age 75, of 31 Logan Ridge Village, Tyrone, died Friday, August 5, 2005 at 4 a.m. at his home. He was born December 12, 1929 at Commodore, PA, the son of Thomas and Margaret Cunliffe McEwen. On May 4, 1949 he was married to Sarah Jane Burket who died December 4, 1987. On December 15, 1990 he was married at the First English Lutheran Church to Myra J. Steele Little, who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Donald McEwen and wife Deborah, Northhampton, PA and Stephen McEwen and wife Kay, Raleigh, NC; three step-daughters: Penny, wife of Ron Burns, Milesburg; Melanie, wife of Craig Grubb, New Enterprise and Joy, wife of Joseph Budzinski, Flinton, PA; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother: Robert and wife Nancy McEwen of Tyrone; two sisters: Edna Narehood and Shirley, wife of Bill Fink, both of Tyrone. Mr. McEwen was a truck driver and retired from Conlux Paint Co. of Edison, NJ in 1991. He attended the First English Lutheran Church, was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company and a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 469 of Hazlett, NJ. Funeral service with private interment will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor T. M. Talbot Moses officiating. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 506 Third Avenue, Duncansville, PA 16635.
