The funeral of Miss Caroline McFadden, whose death occurred on Friday last, took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the home of her step-mother, Mrs. Barbara McFadden, on the corner of Mulberry and Front streets. In the case of this unfortunate woman death was a welcome messenger. For many years she had been continuously afflicted. By reason of the fearful malady which crushed her life she became bereft of her reason and was a heavy charge to her family and an object of pity. At one period of her life, while budding into womanhood, she was a bright and promising young girl, esteemed as one of the prettiest of Hollidaysburg's young ladies and had many admirers. Her misfortune and affliction were alike lamentable, and she is remembered now by the friends of her youth with sadness and regret. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, December 29, 1890
