Alexander Scott McFarlane died June 13 at 8.30 o'clock in the Altoona hospital of a complication of diseases. Two months ago Mr. McFarlane fell and broke his limb. His sister, Mrs. Aiken, where he made his home, was in bad health, and the fiends thought it best to take him to the hospital. He seemed to be getting along splendidly, when he caught cold and pneumonia set in, developing into a complication of diseases from which he passed peacefully away at the above mentioned time. Alexander Scott McFarlane was a son of the late William and Mary McFarlane, and was born near Grazierville about 73 years ago, and has always resided in this vicinity. A good portion of his life was spent in Sinking Valley where he followed the occupation of a farmer. The following brothers and sisters survive to mourn his death: Archie, of Altoona; David, of Coalport; Mrs. Christ Buck, of Tyrone; Mrs. Sarah Stine, of Altoona; Mrs. George Aikens, of Fuoss Mills; and Mrs. Mary Brown, of Mountaindale. The funeral occurred on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the Aiken home at Fuoss Mills. Interment in the Tipton Cemetery. Tyrone Herald, Tyrone, Pa., June 20, 1912
