Laird, of Tyrone, who died of old age being, in the ninety-first year, was buried at Petersburg Tuesday, February 9. Rev. Mr. McGill was for sixty-six years a minister of the United Presbyterian church. His first pastorate was in New York city, from which he removed to become president of a seminary in Butler, Pa. During his long ministry, he held a number of pastorates, but for the past ten years he had led a retired life, going to Petersburg last August. He is survived by his second wife, four daughters and four sons, one of the latter being a missionary in Egypt and two are ministers of the gospel.
