Of Shade Gap, formerly of R.D. 2, Altoona, died yesterday morning at 10.30 o'clock after an illness of three years. He was born in Altoona Jan. 26, 1874, the son of Allen R. and Ella (Rutherford) McGlathery, and was a resident of Altoona until 10 months ago when he moved to the home of his daughter because of ill health. Mr. McGlathtery entered the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad at the age of 15 and retired 10 years ago after 47 years service. From youth he was a member of the Second Avenue United Brethren church. Later he helped establish the Schum Memorial United Brethren church, of which he was a charter member. Mr. McGlathery was a member of Logan lodge 490, F. and A.M., Harrisburg consistory and Jaffa Shrine. In 1918 he married Lulu W. Wilson of Philadelphia, who survives with one daughter, E. Grace, wife of Rev. Earnest L. Peterson of Shade Gap; one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Laura Snyder, Cloyd E., Chester G. and Herbert G., all of Altoona. McGlathery of Shade gap, will be held at the Schum Memorial Evangelical United Brethren church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Householder and Rev. Schmittle. Private interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends are being received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening until 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon and thereafter at the church.
