All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ ABRAHAM LINCOLN McINTIRE For many years prominently identified with public affairs, particularly in Blair township, died at his home at Loop station last night at 10.10 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. He was a son of James and Mary (Spielman) McIntire, both now deceased, and was born Sept. 22, 1864. In 1887 he was united in marriage with Jennie Helsel of East Freedom, who died on Feb. 1, 1913. To this union nine children were born: Mrs. Margaretta L. Finnegan of Altoona, Mrs. Mary Catherine Dodson, now deceased, Mrs. Pearl J. Snowberger, Homer A. McIntire and Russell J. McIntire of Loop station, Mrs. Dora E. Culienski of Cleveland, O., James P. McIntire of Lakemont, Kenneth McIntire of Eldorado, and a baby that died in infancy. On Aug. 26, 1915, he was united in marriage with Mary Slippey, who survives, with two sisters, Mrs. Priscilla Lyons of Loop station and Mrs. Louvinia Phanders of Philadelphia, and fifteen grandchildren. Mr. McIntire served both as a road supervisor and on the Blair township school board at various times and later in life entered the road building and stone quarry business at Eldorado, from which he retired six years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Malta and the I.O.O.F. lodge, No. 119, of Hollidaysburg. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran church in Hollidaysburg, where funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, in charge of the pastor, Rev. M. Stanley Kemp, D.D.
