McKamey, who was recently reported seriously injured while in battle in July. Robert E. McKamey served in the regular army and was corporal in Company E, 28th infantry. He enlisted in Altoona, Oct. 9, 1916, under the name of Robert E. Kay, taking the surname of his step-father. He saw service on the Mexican border before going overseas early in March. Robert was born on Sept. 22, 1897, the son of Dr. John McKamey, deceased, of Williamsburg, and Mrs. Jennie May Kay. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Altoona Y.M.C.A.
