McKee Roaring Spring, December 16. - Mrs. Anna Maria McKee, wife of C. Wesley McKee, of Roaring Spring, died at her home on Poplar street at 9:30, Saturday night, after a four months' illness due to injuries received through a fall early in August. Mrs. McKee was a daughter of Jacob and Sarah Young (both deceased) and was born at Rodman in 1846. While yet a young girl she moved with her parents to the Stephens' farm two miles south of Roaring Spring, where she lived until her marriage to Mr. McKee in November, 1867. They established their home in Roaring Spring where they have since lived. Mrs. McKee was a member of the Church of God for over twenty-eight years, faithfully attending all services. She was an untiring worker in the church Aid society and a valued member of the Daughters of Rebecca lodge. She was a loving wife and mother, a most obliging neighbor. A host of friends mourn her death. The deceased is survived by her husband and their two children, Jacob, of Roaring Spring, and Mrs. Arthur Garver, of Orbisonia; also surviving are two brothers and two sisters: William Young, of Tyrone; Henry Young, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Sara Smaltz, and Mrs. Rebecca Nicodemus, of Altoona. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Detter at the residence on Poplar street, at 1:30 this afternoon. Interment in Greenlawn cemetery. Tyrone Herald, December 20, 1917, Page 6
