McKendree was hurt at the same time as George W. Shubert, aged 22, his son-in- law, also of Frankstown, and who died at the same hospital several weeks ago. McKendree was badly burned about the face, head and arms, and it was believed he would recover. On February 5, 1851, Thomas McKendree was born at Shippensburg, Pa. He is survived by his wife and seven children – Joseph, of Johnstown; Alex, of Frankstown; Mrs. Edward White and Mrs. Grace Thompson, both of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Rose Socey, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Mary Shubert, of Frankstown and Mrs. Nell Lindsay, of Canton, O. Two brothers, William and Warren, both of Hollidaysburg, and three sisters, Mrs. Hainsey, of Frankstown; Mrs. Benjamin Boyles, of Cambria county, and Mrs. Blair Slippey, of Lakemont, also survive.
