She was in her 82d year, having been born on the 13th of September, 1799. For the past eleven years Mrs. McKinstry had been an invalid. In 1854 she met with a frightful accident by falling into a well sixty-one feet deep. The well had no water in it and was only partly walled up. The platform over it broke with her and in her descent she caught on the unfinished wall, but a large stone giving way she was precipitated to the bottom. The stone struck her on the ankle, crushing it and the foot in a shocking manner, causing subsequently amputation. Her funeral was on Thursday, the interment taking place at the old McKinstry burying ground, near Manayunk. After the mishaps and sufferings of a long life she sleeps well.
