All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ McKINSTRY James Edward McKinstry, a well known and highly esteemed young man, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock at his home, 307 South Wayne street, of pneumonia, following an attack of Spanish influenza, after an illness of about two weeks. He was a son of James A. (deceased) and Margaret Cecelia McKinstry, and was born in Altoona Jan. 21, 1881. Mr. McKinstry was employed as a gang leader in the airbrake department of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, in the East Hollidaysburg classification yards. He was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran church of Hollidaysburg, was a young man of excellent character and good habits. Mr. McKinstry was unmarried. He is survived by his mother, with whom he resided, and four sisters, as follows: Mrs. Harry D. Soyster, Mrs. William H. Schmidt, and Miss Annie, of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Edward Blackburn of Altoona. Private funeral services will be held at his late home on Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, and will be conducted by Rev. Julius F. Seebach, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church.
