"Lee" McLellan, 73 of Connellsville, passed away Sat. May 14, 2005 while in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born March 1, 1932, in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Elizabeth Templeton Wertz. Lee was a graduate of Tyrone High School with the class of 1950. She then attended the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School and graduated from there in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. She then married Dr. Thomas G. McLellan Jr. MD on November 8, 1958. Lee served as the Connellsville City Board of Health Nurse for several years and also served on the Board of the Wesley Church Health Center in Connellsville. Lee belonged to several civic organizations including the Hospital Club of Connellsville, The Daughters of the American Revolution Phillip Freeman Chapter, The Daughters of American Colonists Chief Tanacharison Chapter and held state office in that organization, and the Daughters of 1812 Albert Gallatin Chapter. Lee was a member of the Connellsville Presbyterian Church USA. Lee is survived by her loving family, her son Thomas G. McLellan III and his wife Vicky of Pittsburgh, her daughter Catherine M. McLellan Smith and her husband Roy of Hollywood, SC, her granddaughter Isabella McLellan and her brother Kenneth E. Wertz and his wife Carolyn of Mechanicsburg. In addition to her parents Lee was predeceased by her husband Dr. Thomas G. McLellan Jr. MD in 1996 and a son William Douglas McLellan in 1978. Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, Tue. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in the Connellsville Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Green and Pittsburgh Sts. in Connellsville. Everyone please go directly to the church. The Rev. Mark L. Juengel will officiate. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Donations may be made to the Wesley Church Health Center, 410 S. Pittsburgh St. Connellsville, Pa 15425, in memory of Marlene W. "Lee" McLellan.
