Old Citizens Who Have Been Called from the Troubles and Care of This Life. JOHN M'MAHON. Mr. John McMahon, of Blair Furnace, whose illness was stated a week or so ago in this paper, died at his home on Sunday at 2 o'clock p. m. The deceased was about 65 years of age, and leaves a wife and six children to mourn their loss. He was born near Crossmolina, county of Mayo, Ireland, where he has two brothers, Bartholomew and Patrick, yet living. There is another brother of his named Michael, residing somewhere in Luzerne county, and also an only sister named Catherine Mash, a resident of Saxton, Huntingdon county, this state. Mr. McMahon came to this country about forty-three years ago, and after sojourning a few years in Connecticut came to Pennsylvania where he has led an honorable and industrious life until his death. The subject of our remarks was for many years a faithful employe in the service of the late Hon. A. McAllister at Springfield mines and more recently for both Mr. S. C. Baker and Mr. White at Blair Furnace. He a faithful husband, a kind father, a true friend and a good citizen. The funeral took place from the residence, Blair Furnace Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock.
