Meek, of 501 Second avenue, died last night at 9 o'clock of cerebral embolism. She was born at Spruce Creek, February 28, 1829, being the daughter of John and Hannah Glenn. She was married September 30, 1856, at the Glades, her family home, by Rev. George W. Guyer. At the same time her sister was married to a cousin of her husband. She was converted at a camp-meeting held on the Warriorsmark circuit in 1839, and was taken in the Methodist Episcopal church the same year by Rev. Samuel Webster. She has been a consistent member of the church of her choice ever since, and during her entire life she has been a devoted Christian lady. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: George M., of Altoona; Emory and Glenn, of New York; Mrs. J. F. Harter, of State College; Mrs. B. F. Houseman and Mrs. Frank Musser, of Altoona; also by the following sisters: Mrs. Mary McCauley, of Huntingdon; Mrs. M. F. Burket, of Mt. Pleasant, Ia.; Mrs. J. B. McCormick, of Danville, Ia.; Miss Sarah Glenn, of Altoona; Mrs. Robert Meck, of Altoona, and Mrs. P. W. Burket, of Stormstown, Pa. She came to Altoona in 1882 from Centre county. The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. Leaving the house at 3.30 p.m., the cortege will proceed to the Fifth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, where services will be held.
