FRED W. MEISS

Of 1528-4th Ave., died at 4:50 a.m. today at the Altoona VA Hospital.  He was 
born at Tyrone June 27, 1892, a son of David and Margaret (Smith) Meiss.  Mr. 
Meiss attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Disabled 
American Veterans and the World War I Veterans.  He served with the United 
States Army during World War I.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lena Holsinger; two sons, Frank of Altoona 
and Roy of Gary, Ind., one daughter, Mrs. June Cornelius of Altoona; one 
brother, Walter of Altoona, and six grandchildren.  Friends will be received 
at the Laughlin Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
