DEATH OF MRS. MARY MELL.

  Died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Louis Piper, on Second street, 
between Third and Fourth avenues, on the 14th day of February, 1889, Mrs. 
Mary Mell, widow of William Mell, late of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland county, 
aged 74 years, 1 month and 27 day.  Mrs. Mell was born at Ringgold, in the 
county of Schuylkill, and was there married to Casper Guyer, and to them were 
born nine children, of whom five survive her - three daughters and two sons, 
all of whom reside in this city.  These are Jacob Guyer, William Guyer, Mrs. 
Margaret Piper, Mrs. Mary Hawk and Mrs. Sarah A. Blake; also eighteen 
grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Mrs. Mell was a kind and loving 
mother and a firm believer in the doctrines of the Christian religion, and 
died in the full confidence of enjoying the rewards of those who perform all 
those things which the Master hath commanded.
