Death of a Child.

  Maud Mabel Mengle, aged 1 year, 2 months and 21 days, died at twenty 
minutes after 1 o'clock this morning, of pneumonia.  She was a daughter 
of Francis and Sallie Mengle, of 1603 Fifth avenue, and the funeral 
arrangements will be announced to-morrow.
    The little crib is empty now,
      The little clothes laid by;
    A mother's hope, a father's joy,
      In death's cold arms doth lie.
    Go, little pilgrim, to thy home,
      On yonder blissful shore;
    We miss thee here, but soon will come
      Where thou hast gone before.

Local Brevities.

  The funeral of the late Maud Mable Mengle, notice of whose death 
appeared in yesterday morning's issue, will leave the residence 
Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Interment in Fairview cemetery.  
Services at the house by Rev. Bender.
