DEATH OF A CHILD.

  Dean Mentzer, the 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Mentzer of 
Vicksburg, near McKee's Gap, died after a short illness with scarlet 
fever.  Several other members of the family are afflicted with the same 
disease but are recovering.  Private interment was made in Vicksburg 
cemetery yesterday afternoon.
