Mrs. Rachel Mentzer, wife of David Mentzer, died at 10.05 o'clock Saturday morning at the family residence, 710 Eighteenth street, of senility. She had been in ill health since February 25. Mrs. Mentzer was born in Petersburg on February 18, 1852, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ryan Bryan. She was a member of the Catholic church and is survived by her husband and four children: Mrs. Charles Anderson, of Gallitzin; Harry T., Charles E. and John C. Mentzer, are of this city. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive, with two sisters, Mrs. Peter Traiman of Braddock; Mrs. George Healy of Montgomery, Lycoming county and a brother H. C. Bryan of Montgomery. The remains were taken yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock to Gallitzin for interment. The funeral will take place from the residence of the daughter there followed by interment in Union cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday Morning, March 11, 1919
