Meredith peacefully slipped out of this life last night at eleven o’clock, heart disease causing her demise. Mrs. Sara Florence Meredith was a daughter of Reuben (deceased) and Mrs. Rebecca Moffitt. She was born at Neffs Mills, September 29, 1873 and on March 29, 1899 was united in marriage with William S. Meredith, who preceded her to the grave in January, 1924. Surviving her death are her mother and these daughters and son; Mrs. Harold Beringer, Miss Gladys and William, Jr. Two grandchildren, Billy Bressler, Harold Beringer, Jr., one sister, Miss M.A. Moffitt of Philadelphia and one brother, Allison Moffitt of Galeton, Pennsylvania, also survive. Mrs. Meredith had been a respected resident of Tyrone the past forty years. She was actively engaged in church, civic and fraternal work up until the death of her husband. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Sunday School, the A.J. Weisley Missionary Society, Women’s Christian Temperance Union, Daughters of America, the Civic Club and Red Cross. She enjoyed doing those things that were for the upbuilding of Christ’s Kingdom and for the good of humanity. She was thoroughly devoted to her home and loved her little family circle. She was a kind, generous neighbor and one who could always be depended upon in time of trial and sorrow. She was a woman who will be missed in the community. Funeral services will be conducted at the home, 524 West Sixteenth street on Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment in Grandview cemetery.
