MEREDITH, A prominent citizen of Tyrone, died at his home in that place Wednesday night, from the effects of a stroke of paralysis. He was born in Antis township, October 29, 1835. He served in the war. Since then he worked as a machinist and stationary engineer. His wife and four children survive him, viz: Mrs. John B. Beam, of Northwood; John T., of Bellwood; David H., of Bald Eagle, and William S., at the family home. One brother, Scott Meredith, resides at Beech Creek. Deceased was a member of Colonel D. M. Jones Post 172, G.A.R. The funeral will take place Saturday, services at the late home of the deceased at 2 o'clock in the afternoon by Rev. Horace Lincoln Jacobs, of the First M.E. church; interment at Tyrone cemetery. The full Grand Army ceremony will be performed at the grave. Altoona Mirror, Thursday, November 5, 1896
