Coroner Foust, who was immediately summoned, decided that an inquest was not necessary, death having been evidently due to heart disease. Deceased was about 61 years of age, was a German and came to this country thirty-five years ago. He enlisted in the Union army, and was a member of Company M, Sixty-second Pennsylvania Volunteers. August 15, 1864, he was honorably discharged. For the past thirty years deceased had boarded with Mrs. Susan Miller of Ninth avenue near Tenth street. Funeral from Lafferty's undertaking rooms this afternoon at 4 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Gray officiating; enterment [sic] in Fairview cemetery.
