CONRAD MERKEL

Aged 70, of Gettysburg, a former resident of Hollidaysburg, died at 2 
o'clock yesterday afternoon.  He was born in Germany and came to this 
country 52 years ago.  For a number of years he was employed at the 
Adam Schmidt bakery and was a prominent member of the Artisans.  For 
the past eight years he had been engaged in government work in 
Gettysburg.  Friends are being received at the Bender funeral home, 
Gettysburg.
