CHARLIE F. MERRITTS

Of 103 E. Fourth Avenue. died in the Altoona Hospital at 2:05 a.m. 
after a five weeks' illness.  He was born August 18, 1882, at Mines, 
the son of George and Jane (Woomer) Merritts.  He was a former engineer 
for the Middle Division, Pennsylvania Railroad, having retired in 
March, 1952 after 52 years of service.  He attended the First Church of 
God and was a member of the B. L. F. and E.  Surviving are his wife, 
Mrs. Margaret Merritts; one daughter and one son, Mrs. Hazel Shook and 
James H. of Altoona.  Friends will be received at the Myers Funeral 
Home after 2 p.m. Friday.
