Merryman, 409 West Seventeenth Street, who suffered injuries in an automobile accident near Vail (near Bald Eagle, Pa.), Blair County on Wednesday. November 25, died at the State hospital, Philipsburg, Saturday evening at 7:10 o'clock. Mr. Merryman was admitted to the hospital shortly after the accident in which he suffered severe crush injuries, a punctured lung and lacerations. Guy L. Merryman was a son of William F. and Annie Elizabeth (Beck) Merryman and was born on March 8, 1886. On September 12,1906, he was united in marriage with Carrie Waite. He is survived by his wife and three children: Mrs. P. K. Read, of Barberton, Ohio; Pauline Merryman and Sylvester Merryman, Tyrone; also three grandchildren: Ruth Ellen, Phyllis and Philip Read Jr., of Barberton, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. I. L. Tuttle, of Springfield, Ohio, and Mrs. Carl Kienzle, of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was employed as a freight conductor by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen; Good Will Council No. 42. Jr. O.U.A.M.; Allegheny Gateway Lodge No. 187, I.O.O.F.; Tyrone Lodge No. 25, L.O.O.M., and the Odd Fellows Encampment. Funeral services will be held at the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Reverend Dr. Joseph A. Speer, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by Reverend John S. Colledge, pastor of the First United Brethren Church, followed by burial in Grandview Cemetery, Blair County, Tyrone, Pa. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., November 30, 1936, page 8
